Adding a custom field to the Info tab?

I would like to be able to add a custom field to the Info tab -- at the very bottom or inserted below Extra and above Date Added. Ideally I could both give a name to the field label and define its data type -- Text, Date. The immediate example I have is to track my research workflow state: Locate holding, Accessed holding, Notes complete, Done.

Guidance is appreciated.

    You can't, but do note that for some of these (like notes.complete, done) tags or colored tags would be quite efficient

    Upon more documentation research, I see the best solution is to use the SubCollections feature. I can have a a single Library entry in multiple subcollections. Those subcollections can reflect my workflow stages.

    I deal with publications in different languages so there would be a way to have the original title and the customized field would capture the translated title to English.

    You can add
    Original Title: some text here
    to the Extra field, and styles that support original title will pick that up.
