Adding a custom field to the Info tab?

I would like to be able to add a custom field to the Info tab -- at the very bottom or inserted below Extra and above Date Added. Ideally I could both give a name to the field label and define its data type -- Text, Date. The immediate example I have is to track my research workflow state: Locate holding, Accessed holding, Notes complete, Done.

Guidance is appreciated.
  • You can't, but do note that for some of these (like notes.complete, done) tags or colored tags would be quite efficient
  • Upon more documentation research, I see the best solution is to use the SubCollections feature. I can have a a single Library entry in multiple subcollections. Those subcollections can reflect my workflow stages.
  • I deal with publications in different languages so there would be a way to have the original title and the customized field would capture the translated title to English.
  • You can add
    Original Title: some text here
    to the Extra field, and styles that support original title will pick that up.
