Are definitely essential for me.
Very useful for when you need to add a bunch of tags at once.

Relate items is really useful for me. Without it, relating more than two items to every other is a real pain, entailing opening several items and remembering the (sometimes long) list of items. Being able to highlight a bunch of them, select relate items, and have everything related to everything else is a godsend.

Just as a note since many people are mentioning it -- while Zotero doesn't do copy tags, you can already *paste* a newline-separated list of tags and have them recognized as individual tags.

I hope some of the items listed above as "most essential" may be added to your list of features, if not yet there. I want to put special emphasis on one that is not mentioned much:

Modify attachment paths

We need it rarely, but when we do, it's a lifeline. For those of us who prefer linking to our attachments, there's always the risk that a path is going to change, by accident or design. Being able to alter paths in a batch keeps the broken links from being an overwhelming mess.

Last night, I dug into Actions & Tags for Zotero (https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-actions-tags), and it is phenomenal. It is designed to be expandable and to allow you to tweak the code and tailor the interface for your own needs. It takes a little setup, but don't be intimidated. Once you get what it's doing, it's easy to create exactly the menu you want, the shortcuts you want, and you can have it automatically doing an action when a certain thing happens. You pull in a document through Zotero Connector, for example, it can automatically tag it "unread." Really great tool, and I am confident it can quickly replace Zutilo as new scripts are added. I posted a request to windingwind on one of the scripts last night and within an hour, there it was. This is a keeper.

You're in luck, @cdewitt. All of these are handled by the new plugin: Actions & Tags for Zotero (https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-actions-tags). It's working in the Z7 beta.

The instructions and scripts can be found in the Readme at https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-actions-tags#readme. It requires a bit more setup than Zutilo did, but also has some pretty amazing capacities--like triggering a script to run when a particular thing happens. Once you add a few to your menu, it gets easy.

For me, the essential one on a daily basis is

Copy select collection link

It provides a work-around for (still missing) symbolic links within the collection structure.
(I use the link as the URL in a manually created item, choosing item type "radio broadcast" for visibility.)

I hope that setting up "Copy select collection link" for Zotero 7 will not involve too much work.
