Use IEEE Xplore failed. I'm wondering if it's because of the update of the IEEE website.

Possibly, but we always need an example URL for a problem with saving.

Thanks. I use Microsoft Edge and an example URL as follows:
https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7265050
Here I clicked the Zotero extension icon (Save to Zotero (IEEE Xplore)). It showed error and used Embedded Metadata instead. I found the error as follows:
[JavaScript Error: "HTTP POST https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/downloadCitations failed with status code 404" {file: "chrome-extension://nmhdhpibnnopknkmonacoephklnflpho/zotero.js" line: 306}]

It worked porperly yesterday, and I noticed the IEEE website updated after my successful savings. Today it didn't work any more.

This issue is not limited to Zotero. At least two other well known bibliography management software packages have the same problem after changes to the IEEE website. It can take time to re-write the site translator.

We've pushed an update for this that should fix it for Firefox and Safari users. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within 24 hours, or you can update manually by clicking Update Translators in the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences.

It may continue not to work in Chrome and Edge. We're working on a solution for those browsers.

Actually, we believe this should be fixed now for all logged-in users, regardless of browser. It may not work for non-Firefox users when not logged in.

@dstillman, I recall running into the empty-response problem while logged in via institutional subscriber. But I need to verify this with greater attention.

I can confirm that I see the same error on Chrome and no error on Firefox.

I have tried to manually update the connector by clicking Update Translators in the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences (no feedback on whether update happened) and restarted Firefox afterwards. I am still experiencing this error in Firefox.

@shucwu: Try updating Zotero translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero app preferences, and then do the same in the Zotero Connector. This should definitely work in Firefox now.

We've also submitted a new version (5.0.113) of the Zotero Connectors for Chrome and Edge that should allow this to work. Those versions should be out in the next day.
