Zotero 7 Beta: annotating experience for Book should be improved

Since the release of Zotero 7 Beta 29 and later, the annotation experience for books (pages number >1000) is worse than that of Zotero 7 Beta <29. It is not fluent, even like Zotero 6.

It's exciting that Zotero 7 Beta 29 and later brings the support for new annotation tools and new filetypes, however, fluency and quick response are more important.

Expect it will be improved. Thanks a lot.

    Do you mean it's slower with large PDF files? What exactly is slower?

    Are there more issues?

    Yep, the response is not instant, especially between the selecting of annotations. For example, first I select one highlighted text, then click any other places of the PDF, the response is very slow. Also the focus speed of annotation in the preview sidepane is not quick.

    Now if you close the annotation sidebar does the performance become normal again?

    You are very right, it gets normal after closing the sidebar. Expect this problem to be solved in the future betas.
