No UI in Linux

Hi, I just fired up Zotero, and I found I no longer have a user interface. The processes are running in the background: 

$ ps -eaf | grep zotero
gcs6        4989    2511  0 15:58 pts/0    00:00:00 /bin/bash /home/gcs6/shared/Zotero_linux-x86_64/zotero

When I try to run with the --ProfileManager option, I get a popup that says the below. Any idea how to troubleshoot?

    What distro is this?

    What changed on your system since the last time this was working?

    Have you tried reinstalling Zotero?

    The latter error certainly shouldn't happen and suggests some problem with your system locale.

    This is Debian bullseye. I reinstalled and it worked. Yay!

    Unclear what went wrong, but the fix was easy. Thank you!
