MAC M1 - Zotero still appears as an INTEL App and no apparent way to reallocate memory

In "get info" Zotero still appears as an Intel application and there is no apparent way to reallocate memory to improve handling and reading of larger documents. You give us a reader with a cool notes feature and spoil us, but in larger documents Zotero is so slow in certain manual search methods it can be incredibly painful. In a 1000 page document Zotero takes 5 seconds for the initial build and it can be much longer on the very first build. If you shift down 100 pages, using the slider, then it takes12 seconds. The speed is about 1-2 seconds if you use the index or table of contents then type in the page number which is the way I've found to be best and second best using the search engine, but that is heavily dependent on the quality of the OCR in the PDF. The latter is due to the ability or inability to find the word. Finding phrases or precise names doesn't seem to work; likewise using quotes around a name or phrase, copying a name or phrase as it appears in the document or wildcards don't work
  • Zotero 7 includes a native silicone build. You can either switch to the beta (see thread pinned at the top) or wait to the first stable release, which will likely still be a bit out. FWIW, Zotero 7 does work very stably for me, but currently most add-ons aren'd compatible.
