Error in "Copernicus style publications"

The references in the text don't appear in alphabetical order when one of them is a single author.
Examples:
Oppenheimer et al., 2019; Reguero et al., 2019; Theuerkauf et al., 2014; Ranasinghe, 2016
Vos et al., 2019; Andriolo et al., 2016; Sánchez-García et al., 2019, 2020

Any idea about what is happening?

    The guidelines say: "In terms of in-text citations, the order can be based on relevance, as well as chronological or alphabetical listing, depending on the author's preference. In-text citations can be displayed as "[…] Smith (2009) […]", or "[…] (Smith, 2009) […]"."

    I'm not sure if we left the in-text sorting out because of the ambiguity of this or it was just not done when the style was created.

    I'll let the others from the CSL team chip on on what to do here and can then prepare a PR.

    Yeah, I think we left this out because the guidelines kind of say "do whatever you want". I guess we can sort as you suggest in your PR?
