PDF in Zotero viewer presenting a very low resolution

Dear all,
I have found some old discussions about that problem but no specific solution.
Most of my pdf are perfect in the Zotero viewer but some are not at all, presenting a high level of pixelization when the original file is not.
Here is a sample of the same document in Zotero and in an other pdf viewer.
So, what's wrong and what to do to correct that?
Thank you!
Laurent

  • Do you have a large screen and HiDPI resolution? Could you send an example PDF to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
  • Dear Martynas,
    Thank you for your reply.
I have laptop 14.5 screen with a resolution of 2880x1800.
But the same pdf is seen on the same screen with two results.
Ok, I send you the pdf of my example by email.
Thank you very much for your concern.

  • @LVS04 Zotero uses Firefox PDF viewer which is not optimized for extremely large pages that are produced when saving a web page, therefore it has to reduce resolution. Even Adobe Reader complains about the dimensions of the page.
  • Dear Martynas,
    Thank you for your reply.
Ok, I got it. I have checked and it seems that we cannot change the viewer as a end-user. So if, one day you have the possibility to use another viewer or manage to improve the resolution problem, that will be fully appreciated. :-)
I have checked and it works well with the Opera pdf viewer as well as with Foxit reader and plugin.
Thank you very much for your help and concern!
    Laurent
