Can you make a screen recording that shows the behavior you're describing in a new, empty document, upload it somewhere (e.g., Dropbox), and provide a link here?
  • it's ProPlus
  • https://www.jianguoyun.com/p/DS4BRJkQrLXSCxj2h4YFIAA
I make a screen recording and upload it .Can you open the link?
  • dstillman Zotero Team
Are you able to share it somewhere that doesn't require a login?

If it's only 6.7 MB, you can also just email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
  • I have email it to support@zotero.org
  • dstillman Zotero Team
Oh, so you're also getting an error. That's an important detail — you don't want to just ignore that and try to continue using the plugin.

If you change your Word language to English, does the error go away?
  • I change my Word language to English, I'm also getting the error.

After restarting Word? Can you send another video after restarting Word that shows you getting the error with Word set to English, and also provide a Debug ID for that?
  • I send the video by email . And the Debug ID:1419599461
  • dstillman Zotero Team
You provide a Report ID. We need a Debug ID — see my link.

Also, does it work if you try to cite an item with no Chinese characters in it?
  • sorry . the Debug ID is D1341243790. I cite the item is English in vedio.

Does this happen with any Zotero citation style? Did you try with English for the bibliography locale?

    Beyond that:

    Try restarting your computer.

Try disabling any other Word add-ins you have installed.

Make sure both Windows and Word are up to date.

    Try resetting Normal.dotm in Word.
  • None of these methods worked

Have you used Zotero on this computer before?

And this happens with a non-note-based style, too? E.g., American Psychological Association 7th Edition?
  • This problem did not occur when used before. The problem still occur with non-note-based style.

When you did last use Zotero in Word on this computer? What happened between then and now?
  • sorry ,I'm not sure. The last time I used it was a long time ago.During this time, I should have reactivated Office
  • dstillman Zotero Team
You can try in a new Windows user account to see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, if you're able to get a trial of the Office 365 version of Word, you could see if that works, though this definitely isn't a general problem with Word 2019.
  • I tried using word2021 ProPlus,the problem still occur
  • dstillman Zotero Team
You're sure you tried moving Normal.dotm out of the way with Word closed so that it creates a new one?

I'm afraid that and trying in a new OS account are really the only things we can suggest.

(Here was one of the few previous threads where we saw this, and we never heard back on whether the person was able to fix it.)
