Those should work, but one of the ISBN metadata sources Zotero uses is currently hanging, which causes lookup attempts to hang for a while. I've disabled that source temporarily, which should take effect within your Zotero within the next 10 minutes. (We also have an update coming that will automatically skip metadata services that hang.)
It's possible you're seeing something else, though — this shouldn't have resulted in the "Zotero could not find a record for the specified identifier" in any case. If the problem continues, we'd want to see a Debug ID for a lookup attempt that fails.
