How do I account for revisions of a work?

I'm working on something where understanding the nature of changes to an online written work has changed over time. Specifically, this work was originally written as an academic response to someone else, but that response was revised over time. As such, I'd like to be able to cite various revisions of the web page. How would I go about distinguishing different revisions in Zotero?

    a) by the publication date and
    b) by using the internet archive copy of the page at that point (assuming it's available) as URL

    Everything else should probably be discussed in the text rather than trying to cram it in a citation.
