Red pin citation keys problem

Hello everyone, I would like to know how to remove the red pin that appears next to the citation key. It seems to be automatically and selective and doesn't allow me change the citation key according my preferences.

I recently installed Better Bibtext, I don't know if it causes the problem.

  • That entire field is a BBT feature, not a Zotero feature. You'd have to ask the BBT developer for help.
  • You are right, everything goes find when I disable Better Bibtext.

    Thanks for the information
  • You don't need to disable Better Bibtext. Just Select the item. Right Click. Select Better BibTex from the menu. Select Unpin BibText Key. That will remove the red pin.

You have probably gotten those items by importing a bibtex file. By default BBT will remember the imported key along with the item. The red pin isn't actually part of the key, it is just a sign that the key won't change when you change the item.
