Citation style:

The journal follows the `author-date system of citation.

1- Give the author s name (in italics), followed by the year of the publication, e.g. (Gundlach, 2006).
2- If two authors, name both (e.g. Muller and Schulze, 1960); if more than two authors, give the name of the first author followed by `et al. (Shaw et al., 2001)
3- If the same author(s) is referred to in text with more than one publication in same year, a lower case letter should be added to the year (e.g. Meier 1970a, 1970b.). The same letter must be added to the year in the corresponding entry in the reference list.
4- When several publications are cited one after the other, begin with the oldest and end with the most recent (not in alphabetical order).

Bibliography:

List all references alphabetically at the end of the paper.

1- Example for Article:

For each reference, list all authors, full title of paper, journal name (abbreviated according to Index Medicus, see http://www.nih.nlm.gov), volume, first and last page numbers, year of publication. For example:

Shaw WC, Semb G, Nelson P, Brattstrom V, Molsted K, Prahl-Andersen B, Gundlach KK: The Eurocleft project 1996-2000: overview. J Craniomaxillofac Surg 29:131 142, 2001.

2- Example for Book:
When citing a book chapter, give the author(s), title, editor, title of book, place of publication, publisher, first and last page numbers, year of publication. For example:

Heslop IH, Cawood JI, Stoelinga PJW: Mandibular fractures: treatment by closed reduction and direct skeletal fixation. In: Williams JL (ed.), Rowe and Williams Maxillofacial Injuries, 2nd edition. Edinburgh: Churchill Livingstone, 341 386, 1994.

The volunteers who develop styles want you to use the exact references given in the examples. Campbell & Pedersen, Mares.
Two citations, for a journal article and a book chapter, in the format of the style you're requesting. Create these citations for the two items shown below, the article by Campbell and Pedersen and book chapter by Mares. If your request does not contain these specific citations, you will be asked to revise it. Provide both in-text citations and bibliographic entries.
The volunteers who create the styles get umpteen requests and are understandably pedantic about holding requesters to that rule -- especially when they work for free. I don't have the skills to help with creating or modifying styles for you. You aren't alone in misunderstanding the exacting needs of those volunteers.

Edit: It should be kept in mind that Zotero uses styles that are based on Citation Style Language (CSL) [see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citation_Style_Language ]. Many other bibliography management apps also use CSL [see: https://citationstyles.org/ ] and style volunteers receive requests that you do not see on this forum. CSL and Zotero are not the same entity. While there has been some overlap in the developers of each and many CSL volunteers are advocates of Zotero; CSL volunteers have their own policies and requirements.
