Betternotes Export Help please
I am having trouble exporting to markdown with Zotero. I am using the Better Notes Plugin.
Normally all I want is this: Export my annotations to markdown. Preserve the highlights. Nothing else. I right click and select the "export Note and SubNotes" option and that is normally enough.
Prior to this export I have already set config editor to apply conditionals to the highlights in html, mostly I want certain highlights to turn into headings. This allows me to export Notes and a Heading based Outline structure to my notes.
The Problem:
Zotero/Better notes will occasionally randomly change something that makes this impossible. I am not sure why. I have had multiple issues arise that I've had to figure out. The latest is proving to be too much for me to handle haha.
Right now highlights are not preserved at all, and instead I have a YAML header that I cant turn off.

Thanks Muchly

Since 0.8.x, the backend of exporting & importing is changed, while the export window is not updated. I fixed this in the 0.8.5 update.
The highlight color is by default kept in export, and you can uncheck the 'YAML Front Matter' to disable the YAML header.
This helped a lot!!
