    Can you explain, in your own words, the exact problem that you're experiencing?

    Whenever I try to add a citation to my document in Google Docs, a hyperlinked "updating" appears instead of the citation. When I click on it, I get an error note that says there is an issue on the Google docs end.

    The error note says: "Selected field hk28Q3 not returned from Docs backend"

    Does this still happen if you disable all third-party browser extensions and reload Google Docs?

    The 3rd party browser suggestion worked for now. This a really big pain.

    The suggestion to disable other extensions is a troubleshooting step. You'd then start re-enabling them one-by-one to see which one actually interferes with Zotero/Google Docs (One of the first places I'd look is anything writing-related like Grammarly)
