reference in the bibliography but not in the document

I am writing my thesis, and there is a reference in my bibliography that no longer appears in the text. It is a reference that I decided not to use after writing the thesis. I deleted it from the document and from the Zotero library but it appears in the final bibliography.
Can you help me to remove it (I already updated my computer and microsoft word but nothing changes)
Thanks
  • Most likely you just didn't delete it fully. It may help to toggle Word field codes and search for the item metadata.
  • the reference appears in the metadata, how can I remove it? I can't delete it without impacting my entire bibliography. Thanks

Not sure what you mean there. The bibliography is just a representation of the citations in the document. If you see a citation for the item somewhere in the document, just delete it completely and refresh the bibliography.

If you're saying you see it in the bibliography field code itself, you might have added the item as an uncited item using Add/Edit Bibliography, but that's rare and is something you would've had to have gone out of your way to do.
  • I see it in the bibliography field cold and I juste want to correct it. Is that possible ?
  • As I say, if you're seeing something in the bibliography field code, it would be an uncited item that you specifically added. I explain above how you can remove an uncited item from a bibliography.
