I have logged your request, but their guidelines do not match at all what they have in published papers which shows a classic numeric in-text style.

    In text: 1 (superscript)

    Bibliography:
    1. J.L. Campbell and O.K. Pedersen, 'The Varieties of Capitalism and Hybrid Success,' Comparative Political Studies, 40, no. 3 (2007): 307–332.

Are you in touch with the editors and could clarify this first?
I don't want to make a style and then have to completely rework it.

  • thanx for the response, damnation. I selected a recent paper by random. Here are some examples, let's see if they match the style:

    journal article
    1. D. Kuo, D.R. Gifford, and M.D. Stein, “Curbside Consultation
Practices and Attitudes Among Primary Care Physicians and
    Medical Subspecialists,” JAMA 280, no. 10 (1998): 905-909, at
    905.

    stylebook:
    1. D. E. Hoffmann and A. J. Tarzian, “The Girl Who Cried Pain: A Bias
Against Women in the Treatment of Pain,” Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics 29, no. 2
    (1992): 13–27, at 19.

    that looks identical to me

    book chapter
    33. M.I. Morris, “Impact of Infection on Transplant Outcomes:
Transplant Infectious Disease Expertise as an Essential Component
of Transplant Programs,” in M. Morris, C. Kotton, and
    C. Wolff, eds., Emerging Transplant Infections (Switzerland:
    Springer International Publishing, 2021).

    stylebook
    4. J. P. Jones, “Hospitals,” in W. W. Jones and W. P. Jones, eds., Hospitals
and Mergers (New York: Publishers Press, 1978): at 3–8.

with the exception of commas added when there are 3+ authors I don't see any differences. Can you tell me what you see? I have been in contact with them and can ask.
    BB
  • Also not seeing a numeric style @damnation -- e.g. the first OA article listed has both as subsequent cite with supra and idem -- these are clearly endnotes.
  • I must've looked at another journal. Thanks for double checking ;)
