Collaborating on a publication

I am working on a paper for publication on word document and would like to send it to my co authors for editing. Is there a way for them to edit the paper and send it back to me without disturbing the active links for the references in the paper?
If not please advise on how I should go about this process. Thanks

Multiple people can edit a document without breaking citations as long as they continue to save it in the correct format (.docx, for Word). See here for things that can cause citations to be flattened:

    https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/existing_citations_not_detected
  • The main thing to avoid that we see is your coauthors opening a Word document in Google Docs without using the Change Word Processor function in the Document Settings window in the Zotero tab in Word.

So long as everyone is using Word, you’ll be okay
