Editing CSL Style: Cardiff University Harvard

Hi all,

I would like to edit the Cardiff University Harvard style so that I can indicate the date a given work was originally published in addition to the year of publication of the edition I am referencing. Ideally that original year of publication would be entered in the same way it is in similar styles which allow for this sort of referencing (i.e. via "original-date: XXXX" in the extras field in the Library) and appear in brackets after the year of the edition cited, as in the following example:

(Mellinkoff 2004 [1963], pp.203-206)

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.

What doe the guidelines say about this?

Edit: I'm not sure why you opened a new thread for this? https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/98971/style-request-cardiff-university-harvard#latest
  • Sorry, I figured I'd try again since the last thread seemed to go dormant. Please delete this post (or let me know if I should ) if it's not appropraite.

The official style guide doesn't address this sort of citation and the library, who maintains it, have told me I'll have to make the changes to my local copy of the CSL style. This sort of citation is the way that I've been instructed by my supervisor to reflect this information.
  • Commenting again to say I've sorted this out. Thank you again.
