Add Tags to titles

Hello

I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0jtbmQnwmw.

He explained that he uses symbols as tags. For a example a cross-symbol to show that an article is due to read.

Where can I find this symbols to add them to my items?

Thanks!
  • They are just Unicode Emoji symbols. Just copy and paste them directly into the tags input box, then set the color of them, then they will show in the front of titles.

For me,I use ⭐ for collection, ✔️ for done. You can find more unicode emoji symbol through search engines, or some websites like https://www.emojiall.com/.

In addition, you may be interested in this addon https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-tag , I think it's very practical.
  • On windows, typing Windows+; will open an emoji selector window. On Mac, type and hold the globe/fn key in the lower left corner of the keyboard
  • To note, you have to right click on the newly created symbol tag to "assign color", which will make it go to the very front of the tag line-up (& also display in front of the article title). Currently 9 spots are available for this. You can assign any color to the symbol & it will display the symbol, not the color block.

(writing for myself as I set & then forgot how to toggle this & came searching again : D)
