Today, I added new tags to annotations in PDFs that were children of parent records. The new tags did show up in the tag collection. However, when I attempted to search for items containing these tags, none of the annotated notes in the PDFs were found using the standard search tool. Similarly, when I used tags to filter my references, neither the annotations nor their parent items appeared in the results.

Is this behavior a bug? If not, then what is the purpose of adding tags to PDF annotations?
