Edit style APA 7, & and y

Hi! I need to cite my paper to publish in a Spanish journal in APA 7 style, but I don't know how to change the & by Y when I cite a 2 authors book. Can somebody help me? Thanks!
  • Thank you so much, Adam!! It's what I was looking for!
  • Hi Rubyx, thank you for the style. I think there's a little error in it, regarding the comma before "y" (as "and") in spanish. In our language, we don't use that comma.

For example, this is the correct way:
Sánchez, C., Masiero, A. y Martinello, B. (2012). Título del libro. Editorial ABC.

This style you shared outputs this:
Sánchez, C., Masiero, A., y Martinello, B. (2012). Título del libro. Editorial ABC.

After "Masiero, A." there's a comma that we don't use in spanish, and in the spanish version of APA is considered as a mistake.

Forgive my bad english, I hope you understand me. I don't know if you create the style, this is just a suggestion.

    That is set via delimiter-precedes-last.

In this case, you will find the style has it set to "always". Change it to "contextual" or "never" and it will work.

The "author-bib" macro is the one you're showing here, but you will want to change this everywhere in the style.

  • thank you very much. I'll try to edit it instead of use "replace all" in Word.
  • As a note, though, the comma before and/& in APA is because of the initial/firstname not because of the enumeration -- that's why it's there even with two authors. This logic would apply in languages that don't use a comma before and (like German or Spanish) too.
