I pay for zotero premium and have a decent-sized library but not excessive.

I only store journal articles and books chapters in zotero.

Recently I have found the zotero desktop app since upgrading to 6.X launches excessively slowly. I am writing this post after waiting for 5 minutes for zotero to launch it is now well on its way to 8 minutes I can see a Zotero process in my task manager using resources (10% CPU and ~1GB memory) but no window opens and I can't use the cite plugins or connector plugins.

I'm a research scientist I use zotero every day at work and this is really crippling my current workflow. Any help troubleshooting this problem would be appreciated.
