Issue of Syncing annotation from zotero ios beta to webdav

Hi Experts,
I am using the zotero ios beta on my ipad and meanwhile the zotero app on my MacBook.
After setting up the webdav server, the annotated PDF files modified on the MacBook could be reached from the ipad, but I could not find ways to reach the annotated PDF files modifed on the ipad from the MacBook. It seems that my webdav on zotero ios beta can only download but upload the annotated PDF files.
I replaced the zotero with the zotero beta app on the MacBook, but did not solve this problem. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Update: I just found that the annotations are available from the zotero pdf reader instead of the system default reader of MacOS. So the above problem has been solved...

Just adding my +1 here, it's the same for me. Very annoying and has me worried, if these annotations are just stored in the Zotero database, if I want to one day change to another reference manager this will be huge pain. The underlying pdf is unmodified according to the filesystem.
Are linraining and I just running into a strange bug or is this the expected behaviour?
