Localization of "Import Character Encoding"

This discussion was created from comments split from: Suggestions for missing translations in German localization.
  • @dstillman I'm replying to this thread because I have a question that seems too pedantic to create a new discussion, but please let me know if there's a preferred method for asking questions regarding localisation.

Under Preferences/Export, there's the setting "Import Character Encoding". That means "character encoding for imports", not "Import the character encoding!" as an imperative, right? Because then it's incorrectly translated in most languages, including (as far as I can tell) German, Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, and Spanish. It seems to be correct in Polish, though.

(A new thread for a new issue is always preferred. I've moved this to a new thread)

Yes, that's correct. (And yes, a whole lot of the translations look to be incorrect.)
