bug - no menu to turn off highlights in a note created from annotations

There is a dialogue to display the highlights initially, but once I select them, the menu doesn't display the option to turn them off.

    There is a dialogue to display the highlights initially
    The "Show Annotation Colors" menu option, you mean? And you're now not seeing "Hide Annotation Colors"? You're looking in the three-dots menu in the top-right corner of the note editor?

    What options do you see?

    Are you using a custom note template for annotations?
  • The "Show Annotation Colors" menu option, you mean?
    Yes
    And you're now not seeing "Hide Annotation Colors"?
    Yes, I am not seeing "Hide Annotation Colors"
    You're looking in the three-dots menu in the top-right corner of the note editor?
    Yes
    What options do you see?
    Show in Library
    Edit in a Separate Window

    Nothing else.
    Are you using a custom note template for annotations?
    Yes, but I had this issue with the default template as well.
  • Can you reproduce it in a new note created from the default template? If so, what exact steps?
  • Where would I get the default settings? (for the highlight and the note)
  • Right-click on the setting in Config Editor → Reset. You can copy your existing value first to back it up.

    It works with the default setup. This doesn't work:

    <p>{{highlight}} {{citation}}</p>{{if comment}}<blockquote>{{comment}}</blockquote>{{endif}}

    This works:

    <blockquote>{{highlight}}</blockquote><p>{{citation}}</p>{{if comment}}<p>{{comment}}</p>{{endif}}

    Maybe the above doesn't work because it ends with a blockquote?
