WinXP, OO integration - error communicating with Zotero
(I am using WinXP, Open Office 3.1.1, Firefox 3.5.3 with Zotero 2.0b7 and Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a1.)
I had been successfully working on a document a few weeks back and in the meantime had upgraded to the latest versions of the above... yesterday i came back to the document and when i tried to generate a bibliography (or anything else e.g. enter a citation) I recieved an error:
An error occurred communicating with Zotero:
java.lang.Exception: Invalid code prefix
at org.zotero.integration.ooo.ReferenceMark.getCode(ReferenceMark.java.248)
at sun.reflect.GeneratedMethodAccessor8.invoke(Unknown Source)
etc etc
Tried various combinations of uninstall/reinstall etc but still getting nowhere. I did the 'remove all field codes' from the zotero OO toolbar, and then it let me begin adding the citations back in, but after a few of these it threw up an error again.
Report ID: 1862870420 (in case it helps)
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

1. Restart Openoffice with the troubled file
2. Delete the Table of Contents
3. Try to add a zotero reference, at which point zotero will upgrade your document.
4. Now regenerate the Table of Contents.
Anyway, that worked for me and I hope it works for you.
