Species latin name exported to a wrong format in better bibtex

I had my Latin names, such as Amaranthus rudis written as Amaranthus rudis in Zotero's title field. These were then saved as {{{\emph{Amaranthus}}}}{\emph{ Rudis }} as I exported to better bibtex. I had expected {{{\emph{Amaranthus}}}}{\emph{ rudis }}. What have I missed? Thank you.

You need to case protect the text as well like this:
<i><span class="nocase"> Amaranthus rudis</span></i>

This is general Zotero functionality BTW, this syntax isn't just for BBT.
