duplicate citations within bibliography (no duplicates in zotero library)
I am writing my PhD thesis and zotero started playing awful tricks on me at the worst possible time. Please help.
I have 2 problems>
- the same citation keeps appearing as different citations both in text and in the reference list (hence, I have many (Smith, 2001a and Smith, 2001b) sometimes even Smith, 2001c.
I have tried everything (including deleting and re-adding citations individually....although you can imagine how this is next to an impossible challenge for a thesis manuscript!) but new duplicate citations appear all the time. I am desperate, please help.
I have checked my zotero library and there are no duplicates.
- Zotero has started adding initials in the in-text citations :argh:
I have checked and the author is saved in the same way across all their works in my library.
P.s. no I have not changed laptop nor I am working with a collaborator online or with an imported library
P.p.s. I am working on word .docx format.

No other answers. If you create a new document and insert the same citation twice, this of course won't happen, so it's just one of the problems described there.
