Editing Bibliography/Reference Section to 3 authors only

I found some threads about this but that referred to in-text citations and not the bibliography. The journal I am submitting to requires that in the bibligraphy, you name authors and editors through the third, but that if there are more than 3, you use et al. Some of the threads offered some helpful information but perhaps I have missed one that discusses how to fix the bibliography rather than in-text citations. My in-text citations are numerical so no issue here.
