A sincere ask for adding a function of showing picture(s) via URL in notes in Zotero Beta

I'm new to Zotero and I'v found it very powerful to manage references since last few days. Unfortunately, I found today that when I tried to add a picture URL in notes in Zotero Beta it just showed the url itself instead of the original picture. And I knew from a friend that this only happens in the Beta edition and it works well in the Stable edition.

So my concern is whether the Beta will add a function of showing picture(s) via URL in notes.
  • Why would you want that over just pasting the picture itself (which is possible in the beta but not in the current stable version)?
  • Thank you. Never thought of that. But is it able to sync pictures by just pasting themselves? I use dropbox to sync files. looking forward to your reply.

  • Updates:
I've tried and the pictures in notes could not be synced and I could not find them in Zotero web on browser. So I think they are just stored in my local computer. In other word, I' ve instead used picture URLs to link them and wanted them to show up in original forms but this method only works in the stable software.
  • Pictures in notes are absolutely synced in the new beta version when using the new note editor, but you're correct they currently won't show online (where Zotero is still using what's basically a web version of the old note editor)
  • @adamsmith Thank you. So did you mean the pictures in notes will be synced via dropbox in my case?
  • No, via Zotero. Not sure how Dropbox comes into this.
