Does zotero.sqlite.bak use Zotero storage quota?

edited May 29, 2021
Hi,

I've had a bit of a google around but can't seem to find the answer to this.

I was using Zotero storage to host >2GB of pdfs associated with >1000 references.

My zotero storage plan is coming to an end and I am going to move to local backups.

I've noticed that the zotero.sqlite.bak file is approx 200MB currently and the free Zotero storage limit is 300MB. Does that mean once my zotero.sqlite.bak exceeds 300MB I won't be able to sync the database with Zotero servers anymore?

Thanks,
Ollie

  • No, the size of zotero.sqlite (and zotero.sqlite.bak which is a backup of the former) is irrelevant. Only files (pdfs etc.) count towards your online storage quota.
  • Thanks for such a quick reply.
