we've had a user struggling with "Remove items from collection" when "View > Show items from sub-collections" is enabled.
In the log D1222786697 I guess Zotero tried to remove the item, and see that it's not part of the collection.
I'd propose adding a message to the user in this circumstance?

dstillman Zotero TeamThere's an open ticket to disable the remove options when the item isn't actually in the current collection.
