Shortened version of organisation in text

I am using Harvard Cite Them Right. Can someone explain how I can have a shorted version of an organisation in text but the full name in the reference list? eg (GOI, 2012) GOI (Government of Ireland) ........

You can't, at least not exactly like that. In many cases, it makes sense to use the abbreviation as the author and the full form as the publisher/institution.

You're not the first person to ask about/request this, so there's a good chance it'll eventually happen, but not super soon.

CSL 1.1 implements this, so it is likely to become possible in the next few years
