web storage - failure to sync as expected

issue:
The indicated file is saved to zotero locally on "computer A" and opens as expected from the local desktop client. After sync, the file is listed in the browser based zotero, but cannot be opened/downloaded. It does not sync to computer "B".

Papership app gives an error message "Document not found error 404" when accessing the file from the app.

I have followed https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#debug_output_logging
and still having trouble.


  • We'd need a Debug ID after resetting file sync history, as per the Files Not Syncing instructions.

    No, I saw that, but it doesn't show the first sync after resetting file sync history.
  • @GuyEakin: Actually, simpler answer — you have file syncing disabled for groups.

    reset sync -> debug enabled -> sync -> open pdf --> submit debug

  • Thank you -- so strange in that it was previously enabled and working fine. I'll chalk it up to user error, but is there any circumstance in which those preferences might change? Thanks you for catching that.
  • No, no way for that to change automatically. File syncing defaults to on, so if anything it would be reset to enabled.
