Upgrade StorageMendeley import slow, then crashes [ID 1924261837]
I have been trying to import from a Mendeley 1.18 database. The import is quite slow (< 200 entries / hour) and crashes after a while.
Previous attempts had been equally slow, but simply got stuck without error message. They got stuck at different numbers of entries. Sync is not enabled.

Can you check Zotero's memory usage in Task Manager during the import? Where does it start before the import begins and how does it change over the course of the import?
I re-ran the import procedures with task manager open (after deleting the database). This time, the crash occurred without error message.
Memory usage was 152.9MB at baseline, then fluctuated between 1 and 1.5GB increasing to 2-2.5GB (and increasingly higher CPU usage). At this point, the task manager intermittently indicated that Zotero was not responding. Finally, the program crashed after importing ~250 items over about an hour.
The import also progresses haltingly, i.e., will get stuck at an item for a few minutes, then add several within seconds.
