The truth is that explanations are very unclear and installation much too much arduous, one doesn't know why ; spent half the morning without any progress still, can't move it to the famous opt/ (first was necessary to find ; why don't tell directly go to "File system" -> opt/) ; shouldn't be so much for specialists
I mean, if you don't know how to use Linux, don't use Linux. /opt is a standard Linux folder, and we have to assume that people who use Linux understand filesystem paths. Different Linux distributions have completely different file managers and conventions, and that's not something we can help with.
We provide a standard Linux tarball and a link to the zotero-deb packages maintained by a long-time community member. Beyond that, you're on your own. If that's a problem, you should strongly consider using macOS or Windows.
