Add fields to item types?

As written item types "book section" & "book" among others lack a field for "translator." it automatically puts the translator as second author. Can an item type be edited to add "translator" field and have Z recognize that when a new item is downloaded into the library?

    For translator, you can add that by clicking the Author label next to the name and choosing Translator.
