Reset proxy password (solved)

edited November 12, 2020
Hi,
Our university use a autoconfig proxy. It was working fine and since a recent zotero update I didn't get annoyed by the password prompt everytime (thanks!). However, since we are required to change password each 6 months, since couple of weeks, I'm unable to get articles downloaded by zotero. I put false to signon.autologin.proxy, restart zotero and hoping to been asked for password, but nothing.
How I can reset my password? Does it have a "cache" somewhere to delete?
Thanks
Mel
  • Hmm, you really should be prompted for authentication if the login fails.

Are you able to provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
  • D1809484704
  • No general proxy or PAC file found -- assuming direct connection
    What's the value of network.proxy.type?
  • The 3 keys modified, the rest is default.
    network.proxy.autoconfig_url;UNIVERSITYURL
    network.proxy.type;2
    signon.autologin.proxy;true

Zotero should detect a PAC file from the system proxy settings when set to 5, for what it's worth. As long as your system is configured to use a proxy, only 4, for WPAD, should be necessary to set manually.

What happens if you set it to 5?
  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh! PDF suddendly downloaded. So it was not my password which was expired. Thanks so much!
