No communication between Word and Zotero (report 276462477)

My Word does not connect to Zotero any more. I have followed all troubleshooting instructions that I could find, but no help. Zotero Word tab is there, but the buttons do nothing. No error messages either. I have reinstalled Zotero and Word plugin. My database looks fine. Zotero is open. What can be wrong? My Word is Version 2009 (Build 13231.20390 Click-to-run), from Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. My Zotero is 5.0.92. I just submitted report 276462477.

    Zotero seems to be elevated. I do not know why this happens. How can I correct this? I have not set it as elevated.
  • I tried to run Zotero with restricted rights, but it seems not to be possible within our enterprise policy. I have no idea why.

    Failed to start application ".\zotero.exe": A required privilege is not held by the client.
  • Generally this would just mean making sure it's not set to run as Administrator in the Properties pane (though it shouldn't be set to that by default). Beyond that, you'd have to speak with your IT department — this obviously works in a standard configuration.
  • Yes, this seems to be a domain issue. It is not set as run as administrator, but some domain policy causes the issue. I managed to install Zotero in the user space, without administrator rights, and now the communication works.
