Edit APA to use ibid

Hi!

I have recently switched from Endnote to Zotero and have been very satisfied so far. Nonetheless, I am struggling quite a bit with how to edit the different styles. I have used https://editor.citationstyles.org/ so far and managed to make a few tweaks there. However, I have no clue how to edit APA to use "ibid" once a reference is used several times in a row throughout a paper.

I have been googling around a bit and see people copying code chuncks into the code directly. I am not familiar with CSL so I find it a bit hard to figure out where to paste these chunks of code. Is it possible to create a "ibid"-condition using https://editor.citationstyles.org/?

Thanks a lot!
  • The basic logic would be to do
    choose
    --if
    --- position = ibid-with locator
-----text (and then whatever you want to happen there)
    --else-if position = ibid
    -----text
    ----else
    -----the current citation block

(FWIW, ibid. in author date style is a bad idea in terms of readability and style, so if you have any choice, don't use it)
  • Thanks! It works!

However, Zotero keeps believing it is a dublet of the original APA-style. How can I avoid this? Would love to have them both available!

I changed the title in the editor but nothing changes.
  • Change the style id and title at the top of the style.
