Another question on citing newspapers

Not to be overly punctilious but I wonder if anyone has any thoughts/tricks for citing an Associated Press article that appears in say the LA Times or NY Times. No byline except the wire service. A parenthetical perhaps, inserted by hand into the endnote? Do others think it important to indicate in the note that the source was the wire vs. staff? Thanks.
  • You can cite the agency as an author if no staff write is given -- I don't think there are fixed rules on this, so it's really more a matter of taste/value judgment
  • Ah and I see that there's even a little toggle to switch author from two fields to one--which I have done before because when I start typing Assoc. . . it pops up from an earlier entry. Live and re-learn evidently.
