unwanted dots in front of the references in my bibliography.

Hello everyone.
Sorry if this issue has been mentioned before, but I didn't find anything.
I am using Zotero 5.0.89 along with Libre Office Version: 6.3.3.2, I am in Vancouver Style.
I have dots in front of every reference I put in my bibliography. If I erase them, they go, but every time I "update" from Zotero, they come back. Is there anything I can do to get rid of them ? thank you !

  • That's very odd, and I've never seen something like that before. Can you possibly upload your document (or just subset with citations showing this behavior) to Dropbox or similar and give a link here?
  • Hello

Maybe it is because the zotero folder is in google drive ? I created a new document today and it works fine. Here is a version of the file I made today so you can have a look https://drive.google.com/file/d/14yAIST0gLHMLEsjGVvLyfqoz_kUqMbZD/view?usp=sharing
  • That link isn’t publicly viewable.
  • I have the same problem. Was there any solution to this problem?
  • Is this also LibreOffice? We weren't able to look at this, so no solution on our end.
  • I am also having this problem.

    LibreOffice Version: 6.4.7.2
    Build ID: 1:6.4.7-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
    CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 5.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
    Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
    Calc: threaded

    Zotero 5.0.96.2

    OS Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Here's a dropbox link to an example document (I deleted most of the text/figures and just kept the references and bibliography).

  • I report that I have the same problem. Is there a fix yet? The same file with the same references is produced well by Windows 10 Word 2007. It is very odd and a shame that we are forced to use MS software while we have open-source tools.
  • Maybe this is never a problem with Zotero. I fixed this by doing the following:

    1. Put the cursor in the bibliography
    2. In the menu bar, select "Styles" and then "Edit Style..."
    3. In the pop-up, go to "Tabs"
    4. Then try "Delete all" or change "Fill Character" into "None".
