Non-registered invitees to a Private Group

I've been running into difficulties providing access to a Zotero Private Group on Web Library. Members of my latest batch of invitees (none of whom are already registered with Zotero) have reported the following problem, which I can see myself using a test account.

They follow the link Zotero has sent them on my behalf. They register an ID and password. They authorise their registration using the email link, and get a confirmation of 'success'. Then nothing happens - they aren't taken to the Group home page to carry on with the joining process, and there's no clear indication of what to do next. Left hanging in fact.

Is there any way to get round this, or something I've missed? I've been advising people to click again on the original invitation link and log in using their new ID - a bit messy and counterintuitive, and it seems not always successful. Is there an easier way?
