Zotero extension isn't working

Hi so my extension on chrome for zotero isn't allowing me to save. When I click on the extension an error pops up that states : The Zotero Connector was unable to communicate with the Zotero desktop application

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the zotero connector and that doesn't work.

When troubleshooting the connection using http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping. It states that my Zotero Connector Server is Available. However in my zotero extension it states that my status is unavailable.

In the connector preferences it states this error:

[JavaScript Error: "Error: Code could not be retrieved for 951c027d-74ac-47d4-a107-9c3069ab7b48
at _haveCode (chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/repo.js:101:20)
at chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/repo.js:89:6"]

I am on a mac and using Version 83.0.4103.116 of Chrome
  • I can load the link and it says that my zotero connector is available. So what should I'm not sure how the rest of this article helps
  • Temporarily disable any browser extensions that may block network requests, such as AdBlock, uBlock Origin, NoScript, EFF Privacy Badger, or Request Policy. If the Connector stops saying that Zotero is offline, reenable each extension one at a time and, if the problem recurs, whitelist 127.0.0.1 port 23119 in the extension's settings.
  • With every extension turned off it still says the connection is unavailble

If you can load http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping manually in Chrome and the Zotero Connector is still saying it can't connect, something is broken inside your Chrome installation. Disabling other extensions or reinstalling the Zotero Connector will almost always fix that, but if that's not happening for you, I'm afraid you'll need to do some more debugging on your end — such as resetting your Chrome profile or reinstalling Chrome — to figure out why it's broken.
