Style Request: Journal of International Business Studies

Hello,

I tried to create a CSL for the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) by editing the existing CSL for Academy of Management Review. However, I am not getting the desired results.

Here is what the references should look like:
Campbell, J. L., & Pedersen, O. K. 2007. The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success. Comparative Political Studies, 40(3): 307–332.
Mares, I. 2001. Firms and the welfare state: When, why, and how does social policy matter to employers? In P. A. Hall & D. Soskice (Eds.), Varieties of capitalism. The institutional foundations of comparative advantage: 184–213. New York: Oxford University Press.

Basically the only difference with Academy of Management Review is that the titles of books and journals should not be bold, only italicized.

ISSN: 0047-2506
EISSN: 1478-6990

Here is a link to the journal's style guide:

thanks for any help!

    I will look at this.
  • The style is now created:

    https://www.zotero.org/styles/?q=journal-of-international-business-studies

I deleted the bold formatting on titles. Moreover, the et-al rule is a little different in the two journals, which we adjusted.

Please let us know, if you find any other difference or inconsistency.
  • Oh this is so wonderful! Thank you so much, especially for doing it so quickly!
  • Hello,
I am Managing Editor for this publication, and in using https://zbib.org/ to test this reference style, I noticed a few inconsistencies in formatting with our actual journal style. Is it possible to have corrections made?

    1. For online journal articles (not yet published in print) the style should be (noting that journal title should be italicized):

Hutzschenreuter, T., & Voll, J. C. 2007. Performance effects of "added cultural distance" in the path of international expansion: The case of German multinational enterprises. Journal of International Business Studies, advance online publication August 30. doi:10.1057/palgrave.jibs.8400312.

The difference from the current style in your database is that the (italicized) journal title should be followed by advance online publication then the date. Then after a period the doi should be listed.

    2. For book titles, the first letter of the first word after a colon should be capitalized.

    3. For newspaper articles, the date should list only the year first, and the month/day later in the reference, rather than having the year followed by a comma and the month/day. This is the correct formatting (noting that newspaper title should be italicized):

Schuetze, C. F. 2013. Recruiters without borders: Companies scout globally. New York Times, October 28.
