Changing "locate" resolver

Hi
I recently open a cross ref complimentary OpenURL account and now I'm be able to search articles (I tested this following an example of cross ref). I changed the resolver to http://www.crossref.org/openurl?pid=usermail@somedomain.com. However, when I push the locate button "zotero" adds a question sign ("?") at the end of the resolver entry: ....usermail@somedomain.com? and then adds the rest of the code (&url_ver=Z39.88-2004&rft_val.........). The addition of the "?" changes the user name, making cross ref rejecting the query.
How can I solve this trouble?
Thanks
  • This problem was first reported in August 2007. I came along later and posted a patch, sometime in May this year. Here's a link to the patch itself.

Hopefully this patch will eventually make its way into Zotero proper, but for now, well, there it is. Don't know if it will apply cleanly to the current Zotero sources, but if you're comfortable digging into the code, it will at least show what should be changed. It behaves as advertised, but I haven't tried it with a service that requires an sid/pid.
  • Thank you fbennett. I'll use the patch (with some little modifications, I guess).
