how to add citations after indexing in word

Hi ~ I find that I can no longer insert citations with zotero into my word document after adding an index. I looked for other discussion on this and cannot find. thank you for any help you can provide.

    Well, I tried it with just one page of my document (copied page to a new doc) and it worked.....my larger document has over 450 references and was working fine prior to adding the index. I did nothing else besides put in an index. Any thoughts?

    I suspect that the index process in Word may have corrupted a Zotero citation (Word's index feature has a habit of messing with other Fields inserted by Word or plugins). Try to follow Step 10 here to identify if there is a broken Zotero citation, then replace it.
