word plug in will not install manually or otherwise

I have tried to install the word plug in both automatically and manually with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

    You would have to be more specific. Did you run through https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_tab_does_not_appear_in_the_word_ribbon ? Did Word ever display Zotero.dotm under Word Add-ins? What are your Macro settings?

    First tried to install from the zotero connector by clicking on tools and install word plug in. Got an error message each time.

    Reinstalled zotero and repeated same issue.

    Then attempted to go into word, options, customize ribbon, and the program was not listed.

    So you didn't try a manual installation, as explained in that section?

    So then you need to explain, in your own words, the exact process you took, including the folders and files involved, and what happened.
    First tried to install from the zotero connector by clicking on tools and install word plug in. Got an error message each time.
    This isn't a description of the process described — it has nothing to do with the Zotero Connector, and going to Tools → Add-ons is separate from reinstalling the plugin — and you don't say what the actual error message was. We need you to say, in full, exactly what you're trying and what's happening. We also need a Report ID after any error occurs.

    If you're not able to take the time to provide this sort of information in full, you should let @davidlong1 do so. We're not going to be able to help you based on these short, incomplete responses.

    So we are reattempting. I went into Zotero clicked n edit then preferences then word processors and then install Microsoft word add in. Error says installation could not be completed because an error occurred. Please ensure that Ms word is closed then restart Zotero but word is not open.

    OK… So, that's part of it, but you're still not taking the time to fully provide what I'm asking for, and I'm not sure why. As I say, we need a Report ID after the error occurs.

    And I asked for additional information about how exactly you performed the manual installation and how you determined that it wasn't working.

    It is not showing on the toolbar in word Zotero will open fine but not with the word plug in. J will try a manual installation again.

    So when I click on zoterowinwordintegration,@zotero.org under the extensions tab zotero.dotm is not listed.

    Sorry, but I'm just not going to be able to help you here. You simply aren't providing the information we're asking for, and I can't keep repeating myself.

    I provided a link to instructions for generating a Report ID. I asked you to explain the exact process you were taking to manually install the extension, including the files and folders involved.

    If you're not able to provide the information we ask for, you can ask someone else to post here or try to get help from someone in person.

    Found a workaround for now. Installed a template from Zotero to desktoo.
