Style editor not showing all available styles

Hello,

I am tryin to edit this style to remove DOIs (it shouldn't have DOI!)

However the edit style button does not work on that website.

I then tried to edit the style on Zotero using the Preferences > Cite > Style Editor

Can you help me with both issues?

    That style is a dependent style of springer-basic-author-date.csl. That´s why you can't edit it, as there is nothing to edit.

    Why do you say that the DOIs should be removed? Were you told this by the editors?

    From their guidelines (source):
    Reference list
    The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.
    Reference list entries should be alphabetized by the last names of the first author of each work. Order multi-author publications of the same first author alphabetically with respect to second, third, etc. author. Publications of exactly the same author(s) must be ordered chronologically.

    Ideally, the names of all authors should be provided, but the usage of “et al” in long author lists will also be accepted:

    I see. I wanted to submit an article without DOIs as I was influenced by this article, which I saw it didn't have DOIs

    So certain styles cannot be edited at all?

    As damnation says, the actual style is springer-basic-author-date.csl, so you'd have to edit that and then use the copy of that. Dependent styles are just pointers to other styles, but if you're making a modified copy of the parent style you would just use the modified copy directly and forget about the dependent style.

    But you really shouldn't take out DOIs unless someone is extremely clear that they want you to take them out — and even then you should argue with them, because DOIs are incredibly useful and removing them greatly decreases the value of your citations. In this case, where the submission guidelines specifically show examples with DOIs, there's absolutely no reason to remove them.

    @MavropaliasG My understanding is that the journal may need the DOI to add appropriate online links in the references, and check if the reference is correctly cited. The example article you linked above actually has DOI in the references: Just go over the Crossref link; that is the DOI.

    For example, the first reference reads:

    Bernecker C, Scherr J, Schinner S, Braun S, Scherbaum WA, Halle M (2013) Evidence for an exercise induced increase of TNF-alpha and IL-6 in marathon runners. Scand J Med Sci Sports 23:207–214 CrossRef Google Scholar

    If you hover over the "CrossRef" link, it gives you this: https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1600-0838.2011.01372.x

    Hence, the journal actually uses the DOI.
